pillar 1 - education
EDUCATION & COLLEGE PATHWAYS
Knowledge gives families the power to make better decisions.
PARENT & ATHLETE EDUCATION
ALWAYS FREE.
By educating parents and athletes about the different pathways to college sports, we can help families understand what it actually takes to get there — academically, athletically, financially, and personally.
Our goal is not to tell every young athlete that college sports is the right path. Our goal is to give families the knowledge they need to make that decision for themselves.
EVERYTHING IN ONE PLACE
The college sports journey can be complicated.
Academics. NCAA eligibility. Recruiting. Scholarships. Financial aid. International requirements. Agents. NIL. Moving to another country.
Rules change, requirements differ, and families are often left trying to figure everything out on their own.
SSPA brings the information together in one trusted place.
We want parents to understand the process, athletes to understand what is expected of them, and families to recognize both opportunities and potential red flags.
Most importantly, we want young athletes to have a safe environment in which their talent can grow — allowing them to focus on their education, their development, and their sport instead of navigating a complicated system they were never expected to understand on their own.
This is our free parent and player hub.
EDUCATING THE ENTIRE YOUTH SPORTS ECOSYSTEM
Athletes don't navigate this journey alone.
Parents, coaches, clubs, schools, advisors and other adults all influence decisions that can shape an athlete's future.
Most schools, clubs and coaches don't have the time or resources to become experts on every aspect of U.S. college sports.
They shouldn't have to.
That's why SSPA provides education specifically for the adults and organizations supporting young athletes.
The program provides the foundational knowledge needed to better support student-athletes who may be interested in pursuing college sports, including:
Academic preparation and eligibility
Understanding the different college pathways
Recruiting timelines and processes
Scholarships and financial considerations
NCAA and other governing bodies
International student-athlete requirements
NIL and the changing college sports landscape
Agents, advisors, and recruiting services
Common mistakes and warning signs
The role of parents, coaches, clubs, and schools
The goal is not to turn every coach or school administrator into a college recruiting expert.
The goal is to make sure the adults surrounding young athletes understand the basics, recognize when action needs to be taken, and know where to direct families when they need additional help.
Because when the entire ecosystem is better educated, the student-athlete is better protected, better prepared, and better positioned to make the right decisions for their future.
